Steve, for Christmas my wife gave me a copy of your Bemis & Glady book. I have read it carefully from cover to cover. It's obviously the result of months of careful research. Thank you for your dedication to the project of compiling the contents of your book. Leon Armentrout, Apoka Fl
Dear Steve, My name is Charlotte Webb. Many of my happiest memories were formed in Glady, WV. My mother was Verna Strawder and she was born and grew up in Glady. She married Harry Seal and we moved to Baltimore when I was two years old. My parents drove to Glady every time my dad had time off work. Sallie (Bennett) Strawder and Fleet Strawder were my grandparents and we never missed a chance to visit them. When I bought your book, Bemis & Glady West Virginia: A History of Two Mountain Towns, I was delighted to see that my mother's picture along with Juanita (Bowers) Bodkins, her best friend, was on page 273. I also read in your book where her elderly teacher remembered her from the 3rd or 4th grade. I consider this book a treasure because it has so much information about my family. Thanks for writing this book Steve.

Dear Steve, I wanted to take time say thank you very much for sending me a copy of your first book. It was one of the better books that I have read in the last 25 years. I hope that I can come down this fall again and view these little towns. Again, my sincere thanks for making my dreams.

We recently attended a family reunion at Circlesville, WV, and met for the first time, our West Virginia cousins. It was a wonderful experience and a chance of a lifetime for our mother, who is 86 years old. She was not fully aware of her birth parents and had no knowledge of her biological family. Shortly after we returned home, a book arrived in the mail. It was your delightful book, Bemis & Glady, a gift from one of the 'cousins' in VA. We were thrilled. Our Mother's maternal line is Strawder who resided in Glady. The research you have devoted to this work is utterly amazing. A work of love. Your endnotes are a wealth of information. I've piddled at genaealogy for over 30 years and haven't seen a better presentation of facts rolled into prose that makes for a good read. Just wanted to thank you and show our appreciation for your years of research and pulbication pains. You have given the past a future.

Hello,
I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoy your book "Forgotten Towns, Pocahontas & Randolph Counties, WV.
My family and my wife's family both have ties to the Glady area and I love the history contained in your book.
My families camp is about halfway to Glady on the left beside of Glady Fork Cabins. My great grandfather and a group of friends built the cabin in the early 40's and we have been there ever since. I've grown up fishing the Greenbrier River through May & Burner.
Anyways, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the book and the content. Hours of internet searching doesn't even touch the amount of knowledge and history contained in your book.
I should add that I have your other book as well, "Bemis & Glady, A History of Two Mountain Towns, 2 copies actually.

I have two of your books that include the history of families of Bemis & Glady and the other Forgotten Towns. I can't began to tell you much I have enjoyed both! Thanks to your books, I have been able to to piece together and trace back missing branches of our family history.
